Keep my bag to the front of my body. Spread my money around, so that if I do get pickpocketed, I minimize the loss.
I attach my wallet inside my bag (i.e. big safety pin, tie in a Velcro fastener, zipped into an inner pocket), which slows the pickpocket down. It is usually not who you suspect: it might be a young girl or that cute man.
Don’t wear expensive watches or jewelry
